Esta semana, con los alumnos de Segundo grado, hemos profundizado en el aprendizaje de los intervalos de tiempo, una habilidad matemática fundamental. Comenzamos explorando cómo comparar horas y minutos, utilizando relojes analógicos y digitales para facilitar la comprensión. Los estudiantes aprendieron a identificar y expresar la hora en ambos formatos, lo que les permitió entender mejor la relación entre horas y minutos. Posteriormente, abordamos la comparación de intervalos de tiempo, donde los niños practicaron cómo determinar la diferencia entre dos momentos dados, una habilidad útil para su vida cotidiana.
Adicionalmente, aplicamos estos conocimientos a la solución de problemas reales que involucran el tiempo. A través de ejercicios prácticos y relatables, como calcular el tiempo necesario para diversas actividades diarias o planificar un horario para un evento escolar, los estudiantes pudieron aplicar lo aprendido en situaciones concretas.

Learning Time Intervals: A Fundamental Mathematical Skill
This week, the Third grade students have delved deeper into learning about time intervals, a fundamental mathematical skill. We started by exploring how to compare hours and minutes, using both analog and digital clocks to facilitate understanding. The students learned to identify and express the time in both formats, which allowed them to better understand the relationship between hours and minutes. Subsequently, we tackled the comparison of time intervals, where the children practiced how to determine the difference between two given moments, a skill useful for their daily lives.
Additionally, we applied this knowledge to solving real problems involving time. Through practical and relatable exercises, such as calculating the time needed for various daily activities or planning a schedule for a school event, the students were able to apply what they learned in concrete situations.
This practical approach not only helped to solidify their understanding of mathematical concepts, but also fostered the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills in real contexts.
