La Celebración de la Confirmación: Un Momento de Fe y Renovación Espiritual

El pasado viernes 23 de mayo, un grupo de estudiantes de los grados noveno y undécimo recibió el Sacramento de la Confirmación, acompañados por sus padrinos, madrinas, familiares, amigos y demás asistentes de la Comunidad Educativa.

El rito sacramental fue presidido por Monseñor Juan Vicente Córdoba Villota, Obispo de la Diócesis de Fontibón, quien, de manera cercana y paternal, exhortó a los jóvenes confirmandos a recibir con fe y esperanza el Don del Espíritu Santo. Además, los animó a vivir de manera coherente los dones recibidos en sus vidas. Concelebró el sacerdote Luis Norberto Guzmán, capellán del colegio.

Para los estudiantes, celebrar la Confirmación fue una experiencia llena de significado. En ese encuentro con Dios, renovaron su fe, reafirmaron sus promesas bautismales y se abrieron a recibir con entusiasmo la fuerza del Espíritu Santo.

Más que un acto solemne, este sacramento se convirtió en una invitación a madurar en la fe, a asumir el compromiso de ser luz y ejemplo en el mundo, y a dejarse transformar desde el interior. También fue un espacio de reflexión personal, donde cada joven pudo detenerse, mirar hacia su interior y reconocer la presencia de Dios en su vida cotidiana. Un momento para reafirmar quiénes son y hacia dónde quieren dirigirse, guiados por la esperanza y la fe.

The Celebration of Confirmation: A Moment of Faith and Spiritual Renewal

Last Friday, May 23rd, a group of tenth and twelfth grade students received the Sacrament of Confirmation, accompanied by their sponsors, family members, friends, and other attendees from the Educational Community.

The sacramental rite was presided over by Monsignor Juan Vicente Córdoba Villota, Bishop of the Diocese of Fontibón, who, in a warm and fatherly manner, exhorted the young people being confirmed to receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit with faith and hope. He also encouraged them to live consistently with the gifts they had received in their lives. Father Luis Norberto Guzmán, the school chaplain, concelebrated.

For the students, celebrating Confirmation was a meaningful experience. In this encounter with God, they renewed their faith, reaffirmed their baptismal promises, and opened themselves to enthusiastically receive the power of the Holy Spirit.

More than a solemn act, this sacrament became an invitation to mature in faith, to commit to being a light and example in the world, and to allow themselves to be transformed from within. It was also a space for personal reflection, where each young person could pause, look within, and recognize God's presence in their daily lives. A moment to reaffirm who they are and where they want to go, guided by hope and faith.
