Pan Compartido 2024–2025: Una comunidad que alimenta con el corazón

El Equipo de Sostenibilidad Social y Ambiental del Colegio Rochester y la Fundación Educativa Rochester (FER) desean expresar su más sincero agradecimiento a toda la comunidad rochesteriana por su invaluable apoyo durante el año escolar 2024–2025 en la campaña Pan Compartido. Gracias a su compromiso, culminamos con éxito un nuevo ciclo de esta noble iniciativa, que va mucho más allá de la entrega de alimentos: es una expresión de solidaridad que alimenta también la esperanza.

Un año de solidaridad en acción:

El miércoles, 4 de junio de 2025, se llevó a cabo la última entrega de mercados del ciclo escolar. Durante el 2024, se realizaron entregas en septiembre, octubre y noviembre/diciembre; en el 2025, la campaña continuó con el mismo espíritu, llevando mercados en febrero, marzo, abril y mayo. En total, se distribuyeron 210 mercados, gracias a la recolección de 3,645 productos.

Esta ayuda benefició directamente a 66 familias, incluyendo 23 familias de estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Oficial Fonquetá, beneficiarios del Programa Inglés para Chía, y a 43 colaboradores de las áreas de alimentos e infraestructura del Colegio Rochester.

Estudiantes que lideran con el ejemplo:

Esta última entrega de mayo/junio de 2025 tuvo un significado aún más profundo, gracias a la participación activa de los estudiantes que realizaron su confirmación. Ellos brindaron una ofrenda generosa a los niños del programa, donando onces, organizando los mercados y participando en la jornada con compromiso y empatía. Fue un espacio de aprendizaje, reflexión y acción, donde los estudiantes se convirtieron en verdaderos embajadores de la solidaridad y la conciencia social, demostrando que el compromiso con el otro es uno de los pilares de nuestra comunidad.

Una misión alineada con los ODS de Naciones Unidas

La octava entrega de Pan Compartido refleja el firme compromiso del Colegio Rochester y la FER con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de Naciones Unidas. En particular, con el ODS #2 – Hambre Cero, que promueve la seguridad alimentaria, y el ODS #10 – Reducción de las Desigualdades, que impulsa sociedades más justas e inclusivas.

Cada acción emprendida, cada producto donado, cada minuto dedicado a organizar esta iniciativa, reafirma nuestra convicción de que es posible construir un entorno escolar más humano, justo y comprometido con el bienestar colectivo.

A toda la comunidad educativa, ¡gracias por creer y participar! Cada gesto solidario y cada acción conjunta, representa un paso hacia un país menos indiferente y más humano.

Con Pan Compartido no solo alimentamos personas, sino también corazones, y ese es el verdadero valor de nuestra misión. Cada aporte, grande o pequeño, ha fortalecido los lazos que nos unen como comunidad.

Shared Bread 2024-2025: A community that feeds with the heart

The Rochester School Social and Environmental Sustainability Team and the Rochester Educational Foundation (FER) would like to express their most sincere thanks to the entire Rochester community for their invaluable support during the 2024-2025 school year in the Shared Bread campaign. Thanks to your commitment, we successfully completed a new cycle of this noble initiative, which goes far beyond the delivery of food: it is an expression of solidarity that also nourishes hope.

A year of solidarity in action:

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the last delivery of food markets of the school cycle took place. During 2024, deliveries were made in September, October and November/December; in 2025, the campaign continued with the same spirit, bringing markets in February, March, April and May. In total, 210 food markets were distributed, thanks to the collection of 3,645 products.

This aid directly benefited 66 families, including the 23 families of students from the Fonquetá Official Educational Institution, beneficiaries of in the English for Chía program, and 43 collaborators from the food and infrastructure areas of Rochester School.

Students leading by example:

This final May/June 2025 delivery had an even deeper meaning, thanks to the active participation of the students who had their confirmation. They gave a generous offering to the children in the program, donating a snack meal, organizing the markets and participating with commitment and empathy. It was a space for learning, reflection and action, where students became true ambassadors of solidarity and social awareness, demonstrating that commitment to others is one of the pillars of our community.

A mission aligned with the SDGs of the United Nations:

The eighth delivery of Shared Bread reflects Rochester School and FER's strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. In particular, to SDG #2 - Zero Hunger, which promotes food security, and SDG #10 - Reduced Inequalities, which drives fairer and more inclusive societies.

Every action taken, every product donated, every minute dedicated to organizing this initiative, reaffirms our conviction that it is possible to build a school environment that is more humane, fairer and committed to collective well-being.
