Para guiar de manera efectiva el proceso de lectura y escritura en los niños, es esencial ser observadores meticulosos y entender que cada niño tiene su propio ritmo de aprendizaje. Además, es importante determinar cuándo están listos para adquirir estas habilidades. Padres y maestros a menudo se preguntan: “¿Cuál es el método más apropiado para enseñar a leer y escribir?” y “¿Cuándo aprenderán a hacerlo?”. Estas preguntas surgen con frecuencia, a menudo subestimando la complejidad de este proceso, que involucra múltiples factores.
Uno de los factores fundamentales es el dominio visual, el único sentido que debe estar en óptimas condiciones para un movimiento ocular correcto, reemplazando lo táctil por lo visual tal como lo destaca el Dr. Steven Ingersoll. Este dominio visual es esencial para que los niños adquieran de manera natural y efectiva la habilidad de leer y escribir. La elección del método correcto para enseñar este proceso es crucial para que nuestros niños se conviertan en lectores de tipo I, capaces de desarrollar un pensamiento visual y crear imágenes mentales mientras procesan la información.
Es por eso que, en el caso de la asignatura de Castellano en el grado Kinder, se realizan actividades enfocadas en la lectura de palabras completas a través de imágenes, objetos y movimiento. Durante el primer bimestre, los estudiantes se familiarizan con tres palabras de uso frecuente: “yo”, “veo” y “me gusta”. Aprenden a leer estas palabras completamente a partir de imágenes y señales, integrando el movimiento. La práctica constante de estas palabras en un contexto visual permite que los niños las lean de manera fluida, lo que a su vez ayuda a sus cerebros a interpretar las imágenes que representan.
Además, los estudiantes comienzan a construir oraciones de forma oral utilizando juguetes y objetos tangibles. Después de hacerlo de manera verbal, integran otra habilidad, la escritura, llevando estas oraciones al cuaderno donde las plasman por escrito y las ilustran.
Este enfoque busca fomentar un aprendizaje efectivo, teniendo en cuenta la importancia del desarrollo visual en el proceso de lectura y escritura.

To effectively guide the reading and writing process in children, it is essential to be observant, meticulous and understand that each child has their own learning pace. Additionally, it is important to determine when they are ready to acquire these skills. Parents and teachers often ask themselves: “What is the most appropriate method for teaching reading and writing?” and “When will they learn to do it?” These questions arise frequently, often underestimating the complexity of this process, which involves multiple factors.
One of the fundamental factors is the visual domain, the only sense that must be in optimal conditions for correct eye movement, replacing the tactile with the visual as highlighted by Dr. Steven Ingersoll. This visual mastery is essential for children to naturally and effectively acquire the ability to read and write. Choosing the correct method to teach this process is crucial for our children to become Type I readers, capable of developing visual thinking and creating mental images while processing information.
That is why, in the case of the Castilian subject in Kindergarten, activities focused on reading complete words through images, objects and movement are carried out. During the first term, students become familiar with three frequently used words: “I,” “I see,” and “I like.” They learn to read these words completely from images and signs, integrating movement. Constantly practicing these words in a visual context allows children to read them fluently, which in turn helps their brains interpret the images they represent.
Additionally, students begin to construct sentences orally using toys and tangible objects. After doing it verbally, they integrate another skill, writing, taking these sentences to the notebook where they write them down and illustrate them.
This approach seeks to promote effective learning, taking into account the importance of visual development in the reading and writing process.
